Scum bags. I see a bunch of weird trackbacks and what not. It’s not the same thing you’re talking about, but I never like seeing those. Especially since the article is often credited to someone else. They’re pretty easy to spot: they show up right after I post and; the URL is always something like ?p=9816 (some big number because its a trackback farm).

I’ve always used absolute URLs in most of my posts, but for a different reason… to keep the links and images in the RSS feed (through Feedburner) intact. Glad to know it serves yet another purpose.

Mmmmm I like the sound of the Karma Plugin even not for the same purpose you used it but because it sounds better than the ‘incoming links’ WP Dashboard has.
