This is useful work, but I'd like to see one further declaration: the
white-space: nowrap;
is inherited by the
span
tag, from the built-in styles of the browser. As the width of the legend tag is wholly dependent on its contents, this can cause long text strings to extend beyond the right side of
fieldset
s. I would add
white-space: normal;
to the declarations for the
span
tag which, along with an explicit width, will stop this from happening.
