Glide Communications is the website for Brisbane-based freelance PR and Communication Strategist Flo Kempen.
Flo was launching her freelance business and needed a website. Initially, she had tried to do it herself using Weebly but wasn't happy with the results. She was looking for something affordable and uncomplicated.
Flo came to me having already spoken to many 'production lines' but she was looking for someone she could talk to who would actually take time to understand.
Our initial discussions involved recommending getting professional photographs taken. We also discussed the sort of content that would appear on the site and how it could be structured so it could be presented in the best way.
Once the content and design parameters had been discussed, work began. The site was built with TailwindCSS on the front end and Processwire as the CMS. Processwire was chosen for its flexiblilty and ease of use for content editors.
As a start-up freelancer, I wanted to find a web designer who would really listen to what I was looking for in a website and the service I was offering, and not just offer a cookie-cutter web design solution. John gave me time to understand what I was looking for right from the first phone call, and he followed that all the way through the project.
My questions were always responded to, every one, and I never felt like I asked a silly question. John engaged with me every step of the way throughout the site's development and provided me with extra advice when I wasn't quite sure what decision to make.
Sometimes I was a little slow to give him feedback and he would have been waiting on me, I never felt that was an issue. He always gave me extra advice and support. I'm really happy with the end result - to me the site reflects who I am. It is exactly what I wanted to achieve.
I'd work with John again and would wholeheartedly recommend him for anyone looking for web design solutions
